European Athletics Indoor Championships

It was a final in which I felt I could compete for a medal. I have been thinking about the gold medal. In 2013 I jumped a personal best in Istanbul, then a gold medal in the European Championships U23. I hoped I could compete for medals in earlier competitions. It is very emotional, since I have been working towards a medal for a very long time. This medal is also for my coach. She has been very supportive and helped me a lot. Hard to describe the feelings because I was very close to the gold medal. But silver is also nice and it brings happiness in these hard times. The surface was OK this time, I got used to it and was well prepared for this fight. In summer, the world championships - of course, I want to beat them all, but they also want to beat me. So I will train and do everything to jump high again.

I did my record, my PB, I feel really proud. My approach today was not the best one but I got 2.29m which gave me the medal. I was feeling good, the atmosphere was very good. I believe I can jump Belgian record of 2.32m soon but I am taking step by step. I am looking forward to the outdoor season. I hope that I can be in the world championships final.
